Everyone has a time of day that works best for them when it comes to running. However, I happen to think that running in the morning takes the cake for the best time to run. Here are my five reasons for preferring a morning run.
- Just get up and get it done
I find that when I don’t run in the morning, I have to think about it all day. Instead of simply waking up and throwing on my running shoes, I have to motivate myself all day.
- You don’t have to monitor your food
When you don’t run in the morning, you have to monitor what you eat all day so that it doesn’t negatively impact your run. If you run in the morning, though, you can eat whatever you want!
- You’re well-rested
I get so tired in the afternoons, so running is the last thing I want to do. However, if I run right after waking up, my body is rested and ready to go!
- It’s not too hot
Especially in the summer, running in the afternoon heat can be rough. The weather is much cooler in the mornings, and you might need to bundle up, but it’s more comfortable than debilitating heat.
- You don’t have to shower twice
Lots of people like to shower in the morning. However, if you run in the afternoon, you will have to shower twice in one day. Running in the morning allows you to get your run and your shower out of the way.
Ultimately, the time of day you choose for running is up to you. However, take my word for it and become a morning runner! You’ll see that it makes your life much easier.
